Baby’s First Selfie: 4D Ultrasound Captures Cuteness in Motion!

A 4D ultrasound scan is a fascinating prenatal procedure that adds an extra dimension to the traditional 3D ultrasound.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • A 4D scan captures not only still images but also moving video of your baby inside the womb.

  • Unlike 2D and 3D scans, which provide static snapshots, 4D scans allow you to see your little one in action!

  • We offer 4D scans from 22 weeks of gestation.

  • The sweet spot? Around 27 to 29 weeks the baby has a bit more fat but still enough room to wiggle around.

  • Unlike some scans, you don’t need a full bladder for 4D scans. So, no awkward water-chugging is necessary!

Our primary focus is your well-being and your baby’s health.

Each 4D scan begins with a diagnostic check, and you’ll receive a detailed report.

Plus, you’ll take home photo prints, digital images, and optional gender confirmation (if desired).

A 4D ultrasound is like a 3D ultrasound in motion!

Imagine capturing a video of a 3D object, in this movie it's a baby, your baby inside the womb. A mini blockbuster starring your little one!

The advent of 4D ultrasound technology has revolutionized how expectant parents connect with their unborn child. Offering a dynamic, real-time glimpse into the womb, 4D ultrasounds have become increasingly popular.

This advanced technology can come with many questions. We will explore a few today!

Is it safe?

Naturally this is a common one for new mothers and a very valid question.

Yes, 4D ultrasounds are generally considered safe. They use sound waves, similar to regular ultrasounds, and should always be conducted by trained professionals.

When is the best time for a 4D ultrasound?

We recommend doing this between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. During this period, your baby is more developed and the images tend to be clearer and more detailed.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Unlike medical ultrasounds, our 4D ultrasounds typically do not require a doctor’s referral. However, consulting with your healthcare provider is always advisable.

We allow self referrals, you can do this through using a form. That can be downloaded online.

How long are the sessions?

A typical session lasts around 30 minutes. While 4D ultrasounds can offer clearer images, if we were to face any issues we will offer a free rescan.

Can I find out my baby’s gender?

Yes you may, the gender can be determined during your 4D ultrasound. We are 99% confident in the accuracy.

Can my family come?

Yes you may, we allow up to 3 guests including children.

Will I receive photos or videos?

Yes, we offer both and with our packages you get some extras too. You can check out all our packages here: https://www.ultraworldscanningservices.co.uk/pregancy-scans

Summary

Let’s break down what makes 3D and 4D ultrasounds so special.

Traditional 2D ultrasounds gave us valuable insights with flat, grayscale images. When we step into the realm of 3D ultrasound, you’re now looking at a still, three-dimensional picture that shows you the baby’s features in incredible detail.

Add the fourth dimension, we move to 4D ultrasound, and now you’re watching a live video of the baby moving around. It’s this advancement that has revolutionized how we experience prenatal care, turning it into an opportunity for families to bond with their little ones even before birth.

Don't keep this blog to yourself, share it with friends or colleagues who might be intrigued by the fascinating world of ultrasound technology. Let us demystify the process and embrace the possibilities that advanced imaging technology brings.

Whether you’re aiming to provide unforgettable experiences for families or to just support the new mothers. We are here to try and make those dreams a reality.
