Terms And Conditions
This contract is between Ultraworld Scanning Services Ltd, a limited company that operates as Ultraworld Scanning Services , the ultrasound clinic that you attended and ‘you’, the customer, shall be governed by the following terms and conditions of sale (“Conditions”), none of which affect your statutory rights:
Services Provided
-
We provide abdominal, musculoskeletal, small parts, gynaecological, and obstetrics diagnostic ultrasound scans. We do not offer screening services. All of our scans are completed by trained and registered medical professionals specialising in Medical ultrasound. They may be radiographers, midwives or doctors (in these Conditions referred to as sonographer(s)). With your consent, we will carry out an abdominal, small parts, musculoskeletal, gynaecological or obstetrics diagnostic ultrasound scan.
-
For all obstetrics ultrasound scans, the main purpose of the scan is for checking your baby's health, well-being or for reassurance. Our obstetrics scans do not replace your normal NHS midwife appointments or scans. . If any obstetric fetal abnormalities are detected, you will be referred back to the NHS for further management as soon as possible. The detection rate of fetal abnormalities may vary depending on your gestation at the time of your scan. The NHS provides similar and additional antenatal services free of charge. Ultraworld Scanning Services Ltd cannot be held responsible for any fetal abnormalities that may be detected later on during the pregnancy or after birth.
-
In addition, your scan will check the size of your baby, check for multiple fetuses, detect some anomalies, show the position of the fetus and the placenta. If your sonographer believes that there is any area of your baby’s development that needs to be brought to your attention they will discuss their findings openly with you and with your consent, refer you to your NHS care provider for further management. We will, with your permission, send a copy of the Report to your NHS care provider. It is your responsibility to ensure that you then consult with your NHS care provider.
-
We strongly recommend that you access all antenatal services made available to you by the NHS. You also understand that one ultrasound scan is not suitable to be considered as the sole diagnostic assessment of your pregnancy and is not exhaustive to all genetic scenarios and as clearly stated within the NICE , SOR and BMUS guidelines that we follow, not all abnormalities are screened for or detectable using ultrasound. A copy of these guidelines is available to you if requested.
-
You understand that for abdominal, small parts and musculoskeletal ultrasound scans performed, the ultrasound report generated is a diagnostic report that needs to be handed to your referring physician or Doctor to plan further patient care and management. We cannot discuss the course of action or management following the diagnostic scan performed however, we may state any recommendations in our reports for your referring physicians / doctor’s consideration.
Medical History
You understand and accept that we do not have access to your full medical history and therefore cannot provide medical advice relating to any diagnosis or advise you on any diagnostic results not completed by us.
